That Moment

The seconds tick by like an invisible wind unnoticed by senses A breath, a sigh another breath and then that second passes That moment, that second that one snippet of time is captured in history At first that one second was great like a fine wine it ultimately told a story The past has been written the future, unsure but that second will live in infamy It has been written that time is a cure for all of our uncertainty That second, that moment was just passing time and will never be again That second of torment is a thin fine line and it will begin again Copyright © 2011 Steven Cetta All Rights Reserved Image Credit : CoolText.com inertia4, That, Moment, inertia4poetry

Nice one. Cherish every moment and live life like it's our last. We could never turn back time but we must learn from our mistakes and start anew.

That is correct. If we in fact can learn form our mistakes. Not everyone does.

Beautiful poem. I've come to realize that either we want time to slow down or we want time to speed up. In either moment, we've come to depend fully on time.

@inertia4 You make a good point. At times while I'm doing something, my mind will flashback to an event that had happened years ago. It's like it had happened yesterday. To me I think time is both precious and at the same time a slavemaster depending what it's used for. When you have a short life-span, time is precious. You never know when you'll last speak to someone or have a last chance to do that one thing you want to do. On the other hand, when you have to be somewhere at a specific time and you can't make it at that exact time, there's the risk of increased anxiety. I've seen times where people were fired from their jobs because they were a mere five minutes late. It's sad to think of the pressure we put on others by expecting them to be somewhere at a certain time and when they're five or ten minutes late, negative emotions flare-up. Now if a person is an hour late, then sure. Call, find out what's going on. But a few minutes late? There's no need to panic.

Time is like magic to us humans. We look at time as if it is a solid object to hold onto. But it is not. We create memories with photos and videos and even writings. But we all tend to forget many things. I like to believe that life, our life cycle, is like a video that was recorded and is still happening in the time it happened.

@Firestorm0122 The structure of time was created by man. So as for the pressure others put on us it is all fake. We all should never have to punch a clock. That is not normal. We were not supposed to do those things. But time is also something we humans use to gauge things with. So there is good and bad in everything we attach to time. We are also part of something bigger in this universe. We just have not figured that part out yet.

That was really good. I hope this doesn't sound like a generic comment, because it's not supposed to be lol.

@just4him Yes I do think so and I do believe they have that technology available. But they never let the people in on it.

Right. And we can never get it back. Unless we learn how to travel through time. Which I believe they have the technology for but will never share it with us regular people.

Okay. Honestly, the I write these poems I don't know the exact way they are going to go until they are finished. I guess it could be interpreted in many ways.

We know what happened for the past second, but not the next second. It only takes one second for us to make a mistake.

That is very true. But too bad we cannot bottle up all those seconds and hold onto them a little longer.
