Never did I expect that I will have a passion for food. It was in 2014 when I enrolled myself in a culinary school. I was asked by our chef why I wanted to become a chef, I answered her with four simple words, "I love to eat."
Isn't it frustrating how you wanted someting, but you know for yourself that you can't have it? That was my experience when I craved for pizza and pasta so much but I didn't know how to make/cook it.
When I entered culinary, i didn't know anything. I didn't know the value of having a sharp knife inside the kitchen because most of our knives at home were dull. My mother would tell us that a sharp knife might cut our fingers, but in the real kitchen, dull knives are more dangerous. You might apply more force then end up cutting all your fingers.
It seemed to me that I got so interested with learning so many things about food that's why I enrolled myself in baking and pastry arts. From there, my world turned 360 degrees. My love for fashion vanished the moment I baked my moist chocolote cake for the first time. Having that experience was surreal especially that I get to have tons of praises from other people. Also, I was able to collect awards and cash whenever we join cooking contest.
Now that I got so hooked with baking, it became my business. It's rare for some that they get to love their job. I'm just lucky that I love what I do and I get to earn cash and praises all at the same time.
If you believe, you know it will happen.
