Simple Halloween Crafts

It won't be long until Halloween and I note some people are already thinking about ideas for decorations. I just want to share an idea I had last year to make 'spooky jars' which give off an eerie glow and really add to the atmosphere at Halloween. All you have to do is find a suitable black and white photograph. Here I've used a picture of what I like to think is a haunted house, but I also find that old pictures of Victorian seances can look particularly creepy. Trim the photograph so it fits along the back wall of a clean jar, fill the jar up with olive oil, screw the lid on and then decorate your jar with some old lace and trinkets. The oil gives a vintage effect and seems to magnify the photo, which is quite effective. It couldn't be simpler.

Love that! I'm going to show this to my daughter. They love to decorate for every season but especially Halloween.

It's very simple to make. The only thing is to make sure the jar lid is screwed on properly. You don't want oil getting everywhere!

The olive oil doesn't devolve the photo ? That looks really neat.

The olive oil preserves the photos and gives them that vintage look
