Last day of summer! What's it like where you are?

Just a little cloudy here today but warm. I like to think that even though I've been out of school for 15 years, that the transition from summer to fall can be a time for personal transition as well. Its a time for me to reflect and refocus. What's the weather like where you are and what does this time of year mean for you?

For me it is the last day of winter (or the first day of spring). The sun shines and the blossoms have welcomed it.

Unfortunately, here in Florida, "summer" will last another month to two months before we see any sort of cool down. We like to say that our four seasons in Florida are:
1. Hurricane Season
2. Tourist Season
3. Love Bug Season
4. Summer

@moffittjc Winter can get pretty brutal here but not nearly as bad as winter in the UP. I'm actually not a native Michigander, only lived here 5 years now, so I'm not super passionate about any of our teams, but my husband grew up in Michigan and always loved the Wolverines... Until he went and got his Masters at State... So he's a little torn. Lol.

@LyonsCMW My dad went to Michigan, so he was an avid Wolverines fan. My boss a few years ago was from State, so we used to always tease him about how they were second class to Michigan!
Even though I don't really like either team, I absolutely hate Ohio State, so in that respect I am both a UM fan and an MSU fan whenever they are playing the Buckeyes!

Every School year the last day of summer is Mountain Day. It is a tradition at my college that Edgar Tuffs (founder of the college) started when the college opened in 1900. Classes would be canceled and students would meet at the bell tower and then Edgar himself would let the school on a hike to the top of Beech for a cookout and fun games. Now we just do a one mile hoke to Wildcat Lake instead of the 10 mile one on top of Beech. It is just a fun day spend with friends, staff members, and professors.

It is hot where I live. I live where the hot is almost all year around and doesn't matter if the season changes. I love the summer and spring. I only have a little liking to the fall and winter due to the holidays.

It was 85 degrees here yesterday and going to be the same today so doesn't feel like summer is over yet. But that will change this weekend as it's only going to be in the 60's. I'm ready for the cooler weather and to be able to wear jeans and hoodies again.

The weather is quite pleasant in Manchester though the leaves are falling - the biggest seasonal change is that it gets dark earlier and the nights last longer which is depressing
