Unbelievable

Today I posted a picture and wanted to check how it looked before I posted more information. So I just wrote "Has" and submitted it. While I was editing, completing the post, 3 people responded to what they assumed was a faux pas. As in a violation of mylot guidelines. One person reported me! I'm talking 1 minute max of checking the picture out and hitting edit key. Wow

If I haven't decided on a picture to illustrate a discussion, I always post the discussion first and then Edit to add the picture. After all, it's the discussion that's important. The image should be an accessory or an illustration only! As long as the image file is less than 3MB, it should post OK. Some people can be a little over-enthusiastic and a little too quick to comment unfavourably at times. I generally put it down to getting out of bed on the wrong side or something like that, though if I tried to get out of bed on the wrong side, I'd end up in my neighbour's living room with a splitting headache and an urgent need to call the builders!

Not a smart idea....maybe you should have written more to the post that you would come back and edit the post after you check to make sure your picture looks ok. Sometimes I post then notice mistakes and in a short time while I go to fix them people have commented. Of course that's a good thing that people have seen my post so fast.

I saw that discussion, lol. You know what? There are a couple of people here who I've noticed enjoy reporting everything. They're right on it. I'm kind of amused by it. Except when they make a big deal out of it on a thread that's silly to report, then it makes me cranky.

Perhaps you should have entered some text - more than "has". Maybe stating that "Editing in progress" or such. This would help people to not report the post that was believed to violate the guidelines. As it stood, when I reported the discussion for consisting only of "has" and offered little or no value - it did have little or no value! How are people meant to know that your were in the process of editing? Thought control? Psychic powers? Telepathy? Failure to communicate effectively was the key issue here.

I have done this several times and never had any repercussions. Lesson learned. From now on I will post "editing in progress". I personally give some thought to Reporting people. I was editing while you were Reporting. And you're right, without a crystal ball, how would anyone else know that?
