One of the FREE trips I earned working for a jewelry company was to Bermuda. The resort where my husband and I stayed was gorgeous and when we went to the beach, the sand was PINK.
We had been told that the sand was pink but it was still surprising to see all this PINK sand.
The history of Bermuda was interesting too, as we found out at the Awards Dinner. We were told that Bermuda was settled in the year 1609 by shipwrecked travelers who were originally on their way to Jamestown, Virginia.
Bermuda is just 650 miles off the southeast coast of the USA.
Bermuda is a territory of Great Britain and we found it interesting to hear the British accent of those who live there and we were especially surprised to see the policemen in Bermuda shorts as part of their official uniform.
We were told that, Bermuda has more golf courses per square mile than any other place in the world. There are many other options for entertainment also, including water sports, horseback riding and bicycling or tennis.
Bermuda’s official cocktail is a Rum Swizzle and the Swizzle Inn, that we visited, is Bermuda’s oldest pub.
Have you ever been to Bermuda?
