I Love My Bedtime Snack and Can't Sleep Without It

While responding to a post from @marguicha about going to bed to get away from the chocolate that was calling her name I realized, I would have brought the chocolate to bed with me.
Every night before I go to bed I fix myself a little snack. I have a small glass of milk and a 200 calorie snack of some sort. I love sweet and salty peanut bars, ritz peanut butter crackers and little bags of chips or smart food. I just can't sleep on an empty stomach.
I bring the snack upstairs with me and eat it in bed. No, I don't leave cracker crumbs in the bed and if I did , Honey and Brie would make short work of them. I don't snack in the evening while I watch TV or work on my computer.
Are you a bedtime snacker, an evening nibbler or do you have dinner and then are done for the day?

Peckish, I love that word and yes, I do get peckish in the evening at bedtime usually. Tonight my husband brought me a piece of bread with peanut butter while I was writing so I probably won't need more lol

@BelleStarr Is peckish just an English expression?

I usually have some kind of dessert, but not right before I go to sleep. I do get a craving now and then, though and go get something. I'd say maybe once a week, if that.

@BelleStarr Oh. I thought it's bad to go to bed when you have just eaten foods?

Right away, I often eat my snack in bed. I take my medicine for blood pressure and cholesterol at night and then have my snack and go to bed.

When do you have dinner?
I don't snack but like to finish dinner with a chocolate or something sweet.

@BelleStarr 5 to 6pm is pretty early. does your dinner time change with the season or it's the same year-round?

@hereandthere Pretty much the same year round, in the United States we don't eat dinner as late as in other countries.

I'm not much of a bed time snacker as I usually have a light dinner. I do my best to not having a full stomach once it is closer to bed time.

I don't necessarily crave something sweet, I often have something salty which I prefer.

I guess I digest my food differently, I am hungry by the time it is bedtime but I do stay up late and eat early.

@BelleStarr I get up early in the morning, but I never stay up very late, I usually go to bed around 10:30 pm and I read for one hour before turning the light off.

I do like popcorn but not for my bedtime snack, it gets in my teeth too much.

I usually have an evening meal at 6.30pm...and very rarely have anything to eat after that..., if I do, it may be an apple or nectarine or satsuma around 9.00ish... but... I always take a mug of tea up with me...

I think my nighttime glass of milk may explain why I sleep so well, lol or it could be the food!!

Yes I do keep bottled water on my nightstand. We always eat on the go so eating in bed is natural for me.

I confess that just before going to bed, I discovered some cooked chicken in the fridge and ate some. This diet is killing me! I suppose I´ll have to learn to eat accordingly. The doctor did not say I shouldn´t have a snack before going to bed. She just added some no-nos

I don't usually snack after dinner. My husband snacks after dinner and before bed all the time. I keep telling him it's not good for him since you don't burn it off while sleeping but he doesn't listen. Then he complains about gaining weight...

I think I don't realize I am hungry until I actually get ready for bed. Too busy before that.
