Teaching Children

I read a post from TheHorse and i felt so angry and hurt. How well do we teach our children? how come every time something happens(let`s forget why it happened) people are in a rush to loot and destroy in the excuse of rioting. Why are we ready to make our society, community insecure and unsafe for our mothers, grandmothers? Did we not learn respect, tolerance when growing. Sure these rioters, looters thieves are somebody`s son/daughter, did they not learn or have they decided nothing matters? I`m really saddened by it all.It does not affect me in any way apart from making me think and wonder what went wrong. Please teach children and grandchildren to be accepting, tolerant and respectful. It may not make a difference today but if every single child was told this 100s of times(if it has to be done) I'm sure maybe in 2 generations, things will change for the better. I`m sad
I heard on the news that there have been two nights of rioting in Charlotte NC after an armed man was shot and killed by police after failing to follow police...

You are so right. Have you read that we had rioters here in Ticino, in the city of Chiasso a couple of weeks ago? They came in from Italy and they have damaged cars and properties. They protested because we do not let the illegal immigrants come into Switzerland. This is not the right way to spread the voice in favor of people.

@miniam Three are already in jail. I hope that they will have to pay for all the damages they have caused.

Riots does not and never has bring any permanent and good solutions.Only ignorant idle people go out to riot that`s my opinion because l don't see someone leaving their place of work to go out and riot. I heard of the Chiasso riots over the radio, what loosers, going into a foreign country to riot is a no-no

It is a sad time we live in. Not just here, but all over. You're right. Our children do need to learn to accept, tolerate, and be respectful of other people. You don't find that very much in society today.

I don't understand either. I don't have kids, but I do think people need to teach the rights and wrongs so things can change.

You know today as an adult if l want to do something so stupid, one way or the other l will think of what my parents said and im sure it happens to alot of people so if parents did enough maybe things will be different, im not saying not all parents are not doing enough, but every single parent is supposed to do more if things are to get better

Like you, I think children should be taught about responsibility and tolerance. There is little hope for the world otherwise.
