Why is technology so expensive?

Unless it’s made out of expensive materials, I don’t see why a graphics card like titan x would cost 1000$. I mean, sure, they have to pay for the people making them, it is advanced, but they already know how to make them, so it’s not like they have to find the cure of cancer or something.

I think the answer lies in part in those long queues you see outside stores when a new product is going on sale. People will pay those prices!

They have to pay for the research done for this card. An item might be cheap only if there is a mass production, and it is not the case for the Titan X.

value of technology depreciates very fast. only when it is just launched its expensive.
