Is being Sarcastic a good kind of attitude?

I used to follow this youngster on Twitter, like months now. I like the way she wrote her poems as if she already experience heartache. She's smart based on the way she talks about her life. Then, while I was busy following her tweets. One follower asked her if why she likes being sarcastic. She said that 'she can't change her attitude, it feels good when I am like this, and if people don't like it then it's not my problem anymore. She added, 'I like it because I am smart enough to be like this.' Okay. She's being herself. But I don't think it is a good kind of attitude. There is no need to brag about it. I think, in my opinion, you can be sarcastic if you have already proven yourself a lot of things. What can you say about this?

@JustBhem I found that sarcasm is a defense mechanism for many of the youth these days. Even is 6th grade they adopt the attitude that it is somebody else's problem if they don't lie the way they behave or talk. I am not a big fan of this attitude.

@HazySue I totes agree with you. Sarcasm is the defense mechanism of human psyche. It's been noted that sarcastic people are usually more lonely and are unsecure bout themselves.

@Tridib14 So these people are insecure? That is why they have this as a defense mechanism. Now I understand.

I think that there is a bit of truth in poetry and what we write. We all have a way of stating things. To me sarcasm is a form of realism and if people can't handle that, or, if it hits too close to home whose fault is that? I enjoy sarcastic humor because I think it causes us to think. Is it real or the humor?

@JustBhem .....No, it isn't. But I think a sarcastic sense of humor is fine.

Being sarcastic with humor is more sensible but sarcastic and arrogant, nah. It is not a good attitude for a teenager.

I don't think there is anything that can justify being sarcastic the way she is. It's one thing when you are joking around and are sarcastic though.

@JustBhem I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to offend you. I was just going by what you said about her. To me, it doesn't matter how smart she is, etc. If she is being sarcastic to her friends then she is insecure about something. And it sounds like she doesn't want to change either, so you either have to accept her the way she is or move on.

Well, it is your point of view. Maybe she is not or maybe she is. Who knows. I am just stating what I believe she is doing.

@simone10 No, you are not offending me. Yes, I know what exactly your point is. What I'm trying to say is we have our different point of views here and beside I am asking all of you here about your thoughts. So it is okay. Sorry.

Most likely, her parents possess the same attitude. Just like one of my daughters-in-law . . she blah-blahs too much like her mother.

Haha. I am guessing that's also the issue. If parents are arrogant, boastful and sarcastic for sure kids will inherit it as well. No doubt. lol

Being sarcastic isn't a good attitude . Why be sarcastic , when the other person is doing nothing bad to you ? You can be sarcastic if that someone has done something not good to you . Even i , would be that , when somebody offended me first .

Sarcasm isn't good no matter what the situation. With an attitude like hers, I would have unfriended her or unfollowed her.

Me too. There is no point to be sarcastic. If you cant say good then don't say it.
