Do you find the masses politically stupid or gullible?

I have have assumed always that political discourse is about opportunity. i/f one sticks to his/her principle he/she may not be able to reach a position to practice his /her philosophy at a executive level. But 'us', the commoners. I feel we are very ill informed, yet we talk a lot on agendas we barely understand. But then again there is the question of voicing ones opinion I feel a little confused how to respond to stupidity?
