Kuda Kepang is javanese traditional dance if you come to Malaysia dont miss to find and watch it, they use self-made horse and used to give performances to the audience. I used to played it myself. First of all we have leader or shaman. His role is he will summon and enter the right spirit into the body of the player, after that the player will like possessed unconscious, he will be convulsed and then he dance use horse. The player can walk on hot coals and sometimes they've been beaten by a cane or a whip. The player will not feel pain until the spirit is released then we will be able to see whipping effect on the players body but players will not have pain because the shaman has the cure.
