So, I apparently get people questioning when I use U's or hyphens (occasionally) in my writing. No, I am not from over the pond, no this is not just something I do because I "wish" I was English or whatever. I do it because I grew up watching and reading a lot of English media. My mother had a lot of books, I also grew up in the age of Harry Potter novels coming out, it kind of just rubbed off. Sometimes I do it and sometimes I don't. It is as simple as that. It is not a thing I do on purpose, which a lot of people assume it is. I say Favourite, I will at random say to-morrow and I say "standing in a queue" people who are even from that decent will not even say things like that and I get that. Why? Because I am not trying to copy them! So, please, if it offends you, I'm sorry. Just know I am not trying to be another race, I am not trying to be cool or whatever. It is just things I learned and were programmed into my brain at a young age. And if you got a problem, well...might as well have a problem with saying the words like taco, ego, and bonus, because they also come from other languages.
