This morning I decided to watch an episode of Diagnosis Murder while I had a cup of coffee, just to give myself a chance to wake up and charged up. The show was about three you beautiful women that got together and wrote a tell all book. At first it was great for them - fame, lots of money. Then they were being stalked, and killed one by one, assumedly by someone named in the book. It started me thinking how wonderful to gain fame and fortune because of your writing. Of course, I would never write that type of book. then I though, well, heck, I could never write that type of book. My life down in print would never make a page tuner. I have led, for the most part, a normal (whatever that is) life. It made me think, I like my basically quiet, normal life.

writing is a difficult thing to do finding what to write about and then wondering if you will write something someone will want to publish then of course as you said the worry about the stalkers.

I think that it would be nice to write under an assumed name and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

@HazySue a pseudonym is a good thing to have as well as a email just for fans and maybe a p.o.box for fans who like physical correspondence its not good to hide from your fans they are the reason you are making money but you also have to be safe so these kinds of things help ensure that you can do both interact with the fans and still be safe and have some privacy and not be like movie stars needing to have security and hide.

@OKennedy I believe you are right about not hiding from fans. I am thinking a pseudonym is a good idea.

That's what I am doing - a suspense/romance/ghost story for reluctant readers. I just thought the story line was interesting.

A good writer knows you never use actual names and you change the details enough to where no one suspects that are the subject.

True, but it does make for an interesting show.

I wouldn't want to be famous for anything. The famous always draw weirdoes along with the normal fans. I don't have that much talent at anything, so I guess I don't have to worry about it, lol. My life in print wouldn't be that exciting, either. But it's still been a nice life, some talented writer could make a nice comedy piece out of it lol

I am happy with my quiet life. I would dearly love to make the money, just enough to be comfortable, not to be filthy rich.

Nothing wrong with a quiet normal life. That's what we live as well. I've never been into drama. Life will bring some along and that is enough for me without being caught up in it 24/7. I love Diagnosis Murder too. Have a blessed day

@Dena91 no there isn't anything wrong with it. I am not one who likes a lot of drama either. Love that show though and thought the story was interesting.

I have actually had people tell me over the years that I should have been writing my life into books. I'm not sure no matter how many things I've been through and experienced that that many would really find it that interesting.

You never know until you try. It could become a best seller.

I think we all have a book in us. And experts say that writing what you know is best to start out with. I'm sure you have had a moment or time in your life that was exciting or interesting.

I have had my moments but I would never name names like they do in a tell all book. My life has been, since I have become an adult, nice and quiet.

I guess normal life is something worth writing about and being grateful for.. Drama is a short lived thing in life.. normal is what happens all the time. Unless of course you voluntarily court the abnormal.

I think the drama is what sells, it's also what gets you into trouble.
