Kicking my coffee habit!

I'm a week in on giving up coffee cold turkey. Eventually I'll allow myself a cup as a treat but for right now I'm a teetotaler, so to speak. It's been a week and actually, it's going great! This morning my husband pointed out that I was more talkative first thing this morning, where in the past I'd need my coffee drinking time before I could even function. I was seriously addicted, as in needing an hour (which equates to nearly a pot of coffee) in the morning before I even dared do much more than sit quietly. So. What habits are you trying to conquer, and how's it going?

Well, I don't know about letting go of my morning coffee. I like tea but it has more caffeine than some coffees. I feel there is a time and place for tea. Coffee is way too social these days. But it is awesome. Quitting it is not in the cards for me. But cutting back is. As with anything else.

Haven't tried giving up coffee though I lessened my intake to just 2 cups and I make sure, I drink them in the morning.

Right now, I'm really not. I do need to start eating better but I haven't embarked on a special plan. I drink one tall mug (it holds the equivalent of two small mugs) of my coffee in the morning. I used to drink it all day long but finally it did start affecting my sleep. So I've been down to that amount for several years. That's good you have been able to keep away from the coffee if it was affecting you adversely. I really don't miss drinking it in the afternoons. When the weather gets cooler, I'll have a cup of herbal tea in the afternoons. I'm going to get some lapsang sou chong, someone here mentioned it last week and I forgot how much I used to like that.
