I have been in a real mood to go thrift shopping lately so thought I would share some hints in addition to the one I already posted - about disinfecting used clothing. I find it's more effective to check thrift stores once - every - so - often. A store where you haven't been able to find much in the past may get new items in, in the future, so don't give up on particular stores too readily. Plan your route. If you're going to more than one store in a day plan your route to conserve gas. I would start with the farther away ones and end nearer to your home or destination. If possible co-ordinate your trip with any specials the store may have going - many thrift stores seem to have different specials on different days of the week. Take advantage of your status - many stores also offer additional discounts based on if you are a senior, a student, a veteran - etc. Keep looking. I recently bought a sweater at a thrift store. There were quite a number of the same sweater as they were all new. But by browsing through all of them I found one that was priced $1 less - no reason, just priced lower. "Would I really use this" - ask yourself this question several times as you walk around the store. It is alright to put things back, too. Give back. Many people I know have too cluttered of a home. Don't hesitate to donate to a charity store in your area so others can get use out of items that you aren't using anymore. Happy thrift shopping! Photo: Mine

We don't have too many thrift stores in thsi small area. When I go, I usually go to the Goodwill, but there is an excellent yard/sale thriftstore place located near here, but it is only open on Weds morning.

I love thrift shopping, especially in Florida, I am not sure why I don't do it at home but I rarely do.

I really ought to start sorting through my unwanted clothes and bag some up for charity. It's just finding the time. I have so much stuff I just don't have enough space for everything.
