Barney Fife come to visit...

Haha, just kidding. But if anyone remembers the 1960s (?) television show, Andy Griffith, then you know who Barney Fife is and why this old police car outside my daughter's shop reminded me of that show. One of the newest groomers in training, who loves across the street (if anyone remembers the guy who helps us with Max, this is him, YES, he is learning to become a groomers) said the owner of this car lives next door to the house behind his house. I would love to know more about this car, it brings back childhood memories, and would love to take a ride in it sometime. Are there things in your neighborhood that reminds you of your childhood?

So, how is Barney Fife? LOL. Just kidding. I remember that show. I used to enjoy it. That could be a Dodge. Police used many cars through the years, Fords, Chevy's and Dodges. It could be a Dodge though. Or it could be a Ford Falcon. It sort of looks like that to me.

I don't know, I took this from the shop's front window and couldn't go out because I had dogs to bathe, but I'm glad I spotted it and know that the owner lives in town. (Oh, and Barney says hi and that he has to go get ready to take Thelma Lou out to dinner tonight.. LOL)

@Carmelanirel2 LOL. Hey Now!!! Nice one. Great response. Well since the guy lives in town maybe at some point you can find out what kind of car it is. And when you do, just let me know.

@inertia4 I will, except now that the weather is turning cold, I don't think we would be outside too often now.

Sounds like the police car is out the date, because it appeared in the 1960s (?) television show.

There are many episodes online, but here is one where you can see the police car at the beginning.

I hope you are able to watch it. If not, try googling "Andy Griffith episodes" and see what pops up. Also, the little red headed kid (that is, if you find an episode in color, can't remember if it is in color) is Ronnie Howard who grew up to play Richie Cunningham in "Happy Days" and has become a famous producer of various shows.

@changjiangzhibin89 They don't drive it all the time, I'm sure it is only driven for special events and I believe that may have been the week of the county Pork Festival. It may have been in the parade.

Not anymore. Before I moved I lived three houses away from a house I had lived in when I was a toddler. Though that house got torn down, I still knew I had lived just three houses away from the house I owned for 8 years.

That is heartbreaking when a building we remember well is torn down. A few years ago my elementary school was torn down and not only did I go there, but my sisters and my dad, and he went when they first opened up. Now the land is nothing but an empty field.

@just4him I understand. The school I mentioned was actually supposed to be sold, but it had asbestos and unless someone was willing to pay for removing it, the building couldn't be used.

@Carmelanirel2 It was old and condemned, so there wasn't anything they could do for it. It's sad when a historic landmark is torn down.
