Years ago when I was a child, one of our neighbors, out in the country, had a few peacocks. The first day when they brought them home we were thrilled.
The kids in the neighborhood stood at the fence and watched them preen and spread their tail feathers, the males, of course. We were loving it.
Later that night we were awakened by a screeching scream. What in the world was that? Was someone murdered?
Nope, it was the peacocks screeching into the night. After that night they were doing that, waking the neighborhood up and keeping them up, day and night.
All of the sudden people did not think they were so beautiful. They might have had a beautiful exterior but they sure did have big mouths.
