I didn't fall off the end of the Earth. I did fall into teaching 4 classes of 7th Grade Math while trying to finish my latest book and deal with some home repairs while keeping up with my teaching blog. I've missed y'all here on myLot and hope now that things have settled down some I'll be able to be more active once again. I sure have a lot to catch up on. See you in the comments.

I may do that. I decided the book needed a major overhaul and am basically starting again from scratch, saving what I can of the first draft.

We've got accustomed to sites like tiny cents and others taking away myLotters and then returning them like tennis ball volleys...so nowadays, we kind of not suspect why a myLotter is not around. We know they'll be back. :)

I am teaching 4 math classes this year. It has been a while since I've had over 100 students to keep track of. Takes a lot more time to grade so many papers.

4 classes, over 100 students, writing a book, home repairs and maintaining a teaching blog sounds more than a full plate, but it sounds like you have adjusted by now, so it's time to share your stories with friends.

Nice to see you back, i remember from your last discussion that you would be doing a lot of things, oh yes, deal with what is more important first.

Your job off of line has to always come first. I hope you can come on more when things calm down.

Welcome, your absence was noted. Perhaps if we start to keep a register, or roll-call (the US term for this daily school function is bound to be different!), you'll feel more at home here...?

Dude! I was wondering where you've been! I was thinking maybe you went on a big camping adventure out in the wilderness somewhere and decided not to ever come back! lol

Trust me, the thought has crossed my mind. Especially after this semester of teaching. I've been going n so many directions and felt like I was treading quicksand.

@DWDavis That's pretty much how my life has felt for about the past two years. I have done more camping in the last two years than I have in the last 40 years combined. I've just needed to get away from this crazy world for a while. My son tells me I should just quit my job and go somewhere and permanently live in the woods! He's only 13, so he doesn't fully understand that it's not just that easy to walk away from things, especially when you have kids! But I'll be honest, the thought of just walking away from it all has crossed my mind a few times!

@moffittjc My wife and I have talked about selling everything and hitting the road with our camper. It is a temptation.

I thought of you just a day or so ago and wondered if your students had kidnapped you or something. Welcome back!

Thanks. I went from teaching 3 to teaching 4 classes. And switched from Social Studies/Science Fall/Spring to all Math. 100 some odd math students keeps me pretty busy.

It's nice to see you back here. Teaching any classes in Middle school is more than enough to keep you busy, let alone all the other stuff. See you around.
