Do you ever think about leaving myLot?

United States
October 2, 2016 7:57am CST
Good morning everyone...No, I'm not in a bad mood or getting ready to throw in the towel....just asking. I've thought about it a few times over the last year, mainly because I felt I was spending too much time here. The older I get the more I worry about 'how much time I have left'....so when I think that way I don't think this is the best use of time. Then I get over it and make the decision to spend a little less time here. Since JJ has been here forever, along with several others, I wonder if that thought has ever crossed their minds? What about you, have you thought of leaving? Photo: pixabay.com/en/hand-arm-shield-keep-good-bye-997395/

I haven't really although I know sometimes there are other things that I should be doing but mostly it's stuff like sweeping and cleaning so it's pretty easy to talk myself out of getting off the computer.

@AbbyGreenhill I'm going to have to do some cleaning today. After being away for ten days there seems a lot of dust around although all outside is really damp. You wouldn't think there'd be any dust to come in.

Exactly like you, sometimes I think that I spend too much time here and I should spend more hours in real life. I will not leave, but I plan to slow down.

@AbbyGreenhill I also slowed down in summer, but the last few days I have found myself in front of the computer a bit too much. There are other things to do that are also pleasant.

@LadyDuck My husband is outside staining something or I'd be out there it is nice out - but the smell of the stain is too much.

I said I was going to slow down in summer and I think I did - no, I know I did. Once it gets where I don't want to be outside any more then I may be here more.

I actually talked about this in my last discussion. I left mylot for a month when I first joined over a heated discussion but I have never wanted to leave forever. I think this is a great use of my time because it gives me some adult interaction that I don't get offline. It helps me to be able to vent or rant here about things upsetting me. I have lots of thought provoking discussions here that gives my brain some exercise and the money helps too! =)

I agree with the venting part - it's a good place to do that. We learn things, we find out things and we stay out of trouble - mostly LOL

Yes, my plan is early next year but I'll start to check less of the site before 2017 starts. I'll be taking a project next year that will take long hours of my time. If the contract will only be for a year, then I'll be back middle of 2018. If not, I'll just visit the site whenever the contract ends.

Well, there was a year where they quit paying, and soooo many of us left. I've taken a couple weeks break time to time.

I was addicted to cigs for most of my life - so yes I know. But when it comes to this site I wouldn't say I'm addicted.

I've never thought of leaving, but this last few days I seem to have hit a 'trough' and haven't wanted to be here as much. I'm sure I'll regain my enthusiasm, but I may take a break.

I have thought at times that I need to be doing other things, yet I do enjoy reading so many discussions by so many people from all over the world, along with (most) of the comments on my own writings.

LOL, We've moved so much and we really don't have much in common with people around here and we have no close neighbors, so I do much of my 'talking' on here too.

I enjoy Crowdtap but if I spend to much time here then I don't spend enough there. When I did I was getting three $5 Amazon card a month - now if I get one or two I'm doing good. I do a lot of shopping online so alot of research and searcing.

@AbbyGreenhill I am on writing sites and I am spreading myself too thin. It's too bad, in a way, that there aren't more hours in the day.

I have thought about it, but always find myself here again. I am thinking of giving up Swagbucks and other earning sites that take up all my time and give such low rewards for time spent. I think I will try only writing for awhile. It is taking forever to get money from Swag. Paypals are on a delay and I am mad.

The only thing I used Swagbucks for is - for searching and I do buy online and go thru them so I get a lot of points that way...but I am only on that site for maybe ten minutes a day if that.

@akalinus They give a date when the points will be given and so far mine have come right on time.

@AbbyGreenhill I mostly only use it for searches too. I do the odd survey b0ut I avoid spending time there. Today I tried using it for shopping for the first time. I hope I get the points. I tried entering the code for 15% off and that didn't work.?? Maybe it was only for US
