Work from home or 8-5 Job???

I am considering to work from home where I able to pay the bills. I hate working 8-12 hours a day, especially that my kids are in sports and other activities. I've been looking into ways to earn a good income to become a stay at home mom and work online. I'm skeptical about some of the things I've seen online. Anyone that works from home? Or working online? I would like some input.

Unless you've recognised and marketable skills I'd take the offline job any day. If you have qualifications in things like accountancy and such you could easily work from home but to get a real income online you need to have skills.

So working from home isn't a good idea?

@Bobbi_Jo I think it is but not on one of the rubbish sites you see all the time. The money just isn't there. To work from home you need skills in something or some sort of business.

@Bobbi_Jo I agree with Mike. I know there's tons of data entry jobs if you have any business knowledge, or some kind of college degree, and even those aren't as profitable as people are making them out to be.

I don't work online but I have heard of people that do secretarial work online from home. I have no idea where to even tell you to start, I'm sorry. I wish I could help! I babysit from home and do okay with that, but not enough to live off of-it just helps.

Working at home isn't easy. There are legitimate companies out there who do hire people to work from home, but most of the time these are jobs as telemarketers. Your computer has to be qualified to do the work too, because of the software and equipment they send you. Some of the companies are Convergys, and this one here: Other work at home jobs are usually data entry, such as a medical transcriber, but I'd use caution with this one. Too many people do scam job offers with this one. Here's a site listing the good companies, and warning against the bad and what to watch out for. http://workathomemoms.about.com/od/dataentrytranscription/tp/dataentryjobs.htm I've earned money from home by creating personal websites, and by selling things I own. I also write and have sold some of my writings for a little money here and there. I'm in the process of writing out a couple of novels, and will be entering into a writing contest when one of them is complete. Oh! And if you're into creative writing, you can subscribe to Freedomwithwriting to get emails on companies accepting submissions. Some of them you do have to pay... (I avoid those ones) and some you do not. Each one has different rules to their submissions though. But the pay seems very good.

Some businesses do let their staff at least work part of the time at home. But usually the staff start out working at the office. might have some good ideas. I go to work. But for some extra I do mystery shopping. I write the reports at home.

Some of them are scams. If you like to write you can find some writing online jobs.

I have been out of work seems like forever! I am disabled now and finally after a long wait my court date is coming up! I am praying that I will not get denied! I can barely walk anymore I hurt all over and I finally go tot he Doctor I need to go to next week. I have been working on line for several years. I do a lot of sites but it is impossible to do them all in one day, I also use shopping apps as well that pay you back, I did have a job from y old boss setting appointments after the office closed and I was able to work then but unfortunaltely it closed again. As for any other work at home jobs for me, I would rather work on line where I do not have to meet any quotas anymore after several years of that. I do not make a whole lot of money but if I had every dime I have spent here and there I would say I would be well of LO.L. But bills happen. If you want you can message me and I will send you some sites.

If it was easy to make a living online, everyone would be doing it. Just a thought.
