My daughter and a gal pal are coming over to my house one day this week to practice some karaoke. When we go to Virginia Beach in a few weeks, we will be going to a Karaoke bar called “Wannabes” My daughter has a good voice and has done karaoke several times. This particular gal pal has never tried karaoke before, so she really needs to learn how to do it. I have a karaoke machine and dozens of karaoke sound tracks, so hopefully we can find something fairly easy that she can sing. As you can see from the photo, a lot of people like to sing karaoke. Do you like to sing karaoke style?

I love karaoke. My fiance does or often but I have only accompanied a few times. I never do it alone we always do a duet. When he simply go alone he does Alan Jackson or Kidd Rock. Karaoke is so much fun. Hope you have a blast. Do you do karaoke?

Oh yes. Evidently you haven't listened to my song on YOUTUBE. I had this song recorded a couple years ago at Wannabes in Virginia Beach, where we will be going again later this month. Please listen to my song. I know it's not perfect. I didn't do it in a recording studio, so there were no do-overs. Just me singing one night at a karaoke bar. This is not a video, just audio. Tell me what you think. The photo you will see is a picture my son took in Jamaica. It' makes a nice background for the music. Here's the link:

@Happy2BeMe Thanks for the compliment. I used to sing with live bands when I was younger.

Are there karaoke places where you live? The first time I tried it I was terrible, because I had not practiced. I was used to singing with a live band that followed me. But, karaoke is very different. You have to learn to follow the words on the screen and the music. So, after practicing quite a lot, I mastered it and I LOVE doing it. If you would like to hear one of my songs, I'm on YOUTUBE. This was recorded one night at a karaoke bar and it's not perfect, but here's the link

@jonsky77 Oh, that's different. The karaoke places here have a KJ that plays the music and handles the microphones. That sounds like a neat idea. Is it expensive?

I've never done it, but I've always wanted to go some place where I could see others try it.

It's a LOT of fun. We have been going for years now. Some singers are VERY good and some, not so much, but it's still FUN to listen to them all. If you want to hear me sing, I'm on YOUTUBE Here's the link:

That's great that your daughter and her friend can do some practice on your machine. It would make a world of difference.

Yes, I love having my own karaoke machine. And we have lots of karaoke CDs, so we have each practices dozens of songs. I sing a lot of Patsy Cline songs and Celine Dion. Wynona and some 50s Rock and Roll.

No, I have never done it. I cannot get up in front of people and sing off tune. I would be embarrassed. That is great that you have a machine that you can practice. I hope it all works out for you all.
