I have a whole notebook full of “word pictures” in poetry, that I wrote a long time ago. I’m hoping to share more with you, a few at a time. They don’t take but a minute to read. I hope you see the picture in your mind. Poem #1 Beer cans sitting on ice, A special friend nearby. His laughter brightens my day, Too soon, he will say “good-bye.” Poem #2 Amidst the rubble-strewn buildings, Incessant bombs burst in the night War-weary victims, mourn in their hovel, With no way to ever take flight.

Yes, I agree. This very thing is happening NOW, but the strange thing is, that I wrote this poem several years ago. More and more cities are being devastated by war. This is a SAD thing. Did you know, however, that such things as this, were prophesied in the Bible over 2000 years ago as a sign of the "last days?" Matthew 24:3-8 Wars, along with food shortages and "earthquakes in one place after another" are mentioned in the Bible. It says that when you see these things happening all over the world, know that the "KINGDOM of God" is near. There was one more thing that had to happen, and then the "end would come." Matthew 24:14 tells us what this sign would be. It says that the GOOD NEWS of the kingdom would be preached in all the inhabited earth and THEN the end would come. This preaching work is also being accomplished right now in all the earth. Have you ever been approached by someone at your home who talked about the kingdom of God? Do you read the Bible?
