I've watched Interstellar a year ago as I remember and the Space Odyssey a few years back and I think both movies are mind blowing. Though Space Odyssey is more intriguing and definitely more mind blowing for me, I think they are kinda alike. I don't know perhaps because they're both about space travel? I'm not quite sure.
What about you guys? What do you think?

Which is about the origin of life? Is it 2001? Haha :D I apologize for that because to be honest, I still don't get that movie and it's still boggling me.

@JasminCottontail yes it's 2001: space odyssey.. at first you see the big black pillar.. that actually is speculation that when the life on earth was not progressing quickly. some alien or advanced civilization put it there and based on it's touch or vibration or some effect the apes and the current set of animals have improved neurological changes. and so thinking and the survival on earth became different. I think that's the ttruth was later found out by the machine that takes over the ship and makes ship captain realize that..

Interstellar is more movie star driven while 2001 is all about visuals and dropping acid while watching.
