How rewarding is private Sector?

India

Hi Folks, I have been working since I was 20 years old. There have been very good learning all my way. The areas and domains were all different where I worked. It was all good fun to learn and work at same time. Things are very good when you are new and just learning , but the amount of work that you give in- is it reciprocated by the rewards? I come across people who always say that private sector is full of selfish people- they are good to you till you are useful to them. Once the work is done, you are no more required they will not hesitate to show the out doors to you. My recent experience with reference to my friends has been the same. It makes me think that shall one start their own work or start freelancing instead of working for someone else. dreamer_anju.

That is what I suggest to many of my friends. Do not write for someone. They will exploit you to the maximum. If you are willing to work for pennies then there is no way for you. You are finished.

True. One should work for peace and satisfaction and not for mere amount for which you may sometime need to compromise on your self respect.

Or theres always the option of government and nonprofit jobs. But I do believe there are some good private sector jobs where bosses treat their employees and customers right. But you are right there is a lot of greed in business indeed!

Agreed. But still one can always chose to do what he likes and in the era where we live almost everything can be turned in money. ;-)
