My visit to Ooty - a beautiful hill station in South India

Last month I took a break from my same regular routine and paid a visit to Ooty. I reside in Bangalore and Ooty was an overnight journey via Mysore. As far as I had heard , I was not sure the place is so very mesmerizing . Though my travel was not very pleasant as I went via full sleeper bus that covers almost 80 to 90 kilometers of hilly roads having abundant number of hairpin curves. But upon arrival I enjoyed lots in such a lush green environment.

Pony it is beautiful...hill station and unlike your California it does not suffer earthquakes ok? SMH. Beautiful tea gardens...that is where western folks settle...when they come to India..

@TheHorse I heard California as a province is developed and seamless investments are there , does it also maintains natural beauty?

@vandana7 Even Ooty and Munnar are known for tea gardens but i was not quiet sure if western folks settle there. Certainly I would try to find the place as you mentioned.

@fazelath yes , the best thing is about toy train. This time I would like to enroute via mettupulayam.

@shrutipp there are many places in South India left untouched and unadulterated against North regions, this s why a natural beauty along with wild life is abundant inTamil Nadu and kerala.

I have gone to ooty when I was studying in school. Its really a beautiful place.. I have gone to the boathouse . Boating is the prime attraction at the lake. There are pony rides in front of the houseboat.
