Recently IMPAA has imposed ban on Pakistan Artistes in India till further situation between India and Pakistan are not normalized.
There have been various reactions on this where some people from film fraternity have spoken against this ban as they feel terrorism and art should not be related and artistes are not terrorists.
Celebrities like Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, hansal Mehta have not liked the idea of ban on artists as they feel art has no boundaries and it is Govt who had given Pak artists Work Visa to work in India.
However, this has received severe criticism as lot of other celebrities, journalists or common public felt the other way, because in a time where we are trying to isloate Pakistan and not trying to have any relations with them , in a time when they are continuously breaking the ceasefire and and everyday trying to attack Indian soldiers, in a time where India is carrying surgical operations on terrorist camps in Pakistan, how can a cultural exchange take place between these two nations. Celebreties like Randeep Huda, Nawazuddin, Varun Dhawan etc have supported the ban.
I also feel art has no boundaries, but not at the cost of nation and we cannot have cultural relations on one hand and fighting with the same country on other hand.
Really liked the way Nana Patekar said to a news channel, that we actors are as small as bed bugs in front of country and the soldiers, and what actors say is least significant and we should all support Govt ,and if banning pakistani artist is required, so be it.

Even I am in favor of this ban. Indians have a lot of talent and still we have the three "Khans" ruling over Bollywood. Some people have also pointed that salman stood silent when MS Dhoni was banned in Pakistan but he got all furious on banning Pakistani actors from India.
Indian soldiers have sacrificed enough for us , it's time to show support by banning Pakistani actors too.

@Pass12 Yes thats a valid point that if artist and movies should not be linked with politics then why was M S Dhoni movie banned in Pakistan.
Why should we nurture Pakistani artists and they ban our movies....
As far as Salman is concerned, it really seems he had no idea of what he was trying to say, he was trying to make a point and show himself an intellectual which ofcourse he is not.

@avi256 he got trolled by all the twitter users and he didn't even apologize, right?
He boycotted arijit's song due to some silly reasons and is now supporting all the Pakistani artists. It's not like I hate salman, but such activities of him aren't good at all.

I truly agree with you as being indian I can feel how sad it is to see our Indian armies geeting killed. Its diffucult to handle this.
In our country we have so many unemployed who are very artistic and so they must be given chance rather giving any Pakistani artists.

@priski This has been question in my mind for long time that has talent vanished from our country that we need to look for talent from the country who never was in good political terms with us or who has been consistently engaged in terrorist activities across border.
Not to undermine talent of Rahat fateh Ali Khan or Fawad Khan or Atif Aslam or any other Pak artist, but these people can condemn terror attacks all over the world, but when it happens to India, where they are actually working, they are silent. Strange!!

@avi256 we have so many people who have great talent which have been lost as they are kept unrecognized.
I like voice of Atif Aslam but it doesn't mean that he is much more than Indian armies. The artists from Pakistan must show their talent in their country and not in ours..

ohhh my god!! so deep, thoughtful!! but jokes apart, yeah I do support the ban and salman khan is a fuss over the crazy people and he has no meaningful thoughts!! and moreover, by banning them, we're actually protecting those artists from the raging Indians.. phew!! and i salute the courage of adnan sami who came out defending the Indian army..

It is absolutely justified for a sovereign state to take measures not only for its security but the general morale of its public. While the tangibility of the impact of banning artists on terrorism may be debatable, we evade the prime objective by discussing it in this context. The real impact lies in creating an atmosphere of quintessential national solidarity and unity in the wake ok recurring terrorist attacks. While scientific rationalism dictates separation of artists from terrorists, completely dissociating from a normative approach creates nothing but trouble. Would we like to have a nation of cynical citizenry disincentivized from participating in guarding its frontiers and people? Because evidently, it is only the soldier who bears the brunt of conflict while business and "art" go on as usual. I guess not.
