Should students be allowed to grade their teachers?

When I was a student, we have teachers who aren't professional and sometimes don't do their jobs properly that's why I've come up with an idea what if students are allowed to grade their teachers. This thought came to me so that the school board will be aware of their teachers behavior and treatment towards the students and if they do their job properly.
I still don't know if they've implemented it to some schools or if they have any plans of implementing it.
What about you? Do you think students should be allowed to grade their teachers?

I was a teacher for 40 years at secondary grammar schools in Germany. (I'm retired) During this time I had a lot of trainee teachers in my classes. I can tell you from experience that pupils can't judge if a teacher is good or not from an educational and pedagogical point of view. They can only like a teacher or not.
I remember a class with only 16/17-year-old girls. A well prepared female trainee flopped with them. Later a male trainee came. A man! And a rather good-looking one! They nearly swooned. They were unable to realise that he was really bad and barely qualified to become a teacher.
It would have been a catastrophe if the pupils' vote had been taken into account.

i think it's more useful to ask for suggestions, instead of simply grading the teacher. of course there will be extreme emotional reactions, but i'm sure there will be some commonality that will consistently come out.

No matter what the students think of teachers, I don't think they can grade them like they grade students ..
