Yesterday i saw a domestic film “Operation Mekong” which was based on a real Mekong murder case. In this case, 13 Chinese sailors was brutally murdered on the Mekong River on October 5, 2011. The chief criminal named Naw Kham, who is the notorious leader of an armed drug gang from Myanmar. Finally, through a joint operation of four nations, including Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and China, Naw Kham and five of his gang members was busted and sentenced to death in 2012.
Operation Mekong told the story about the Chinese operations team who fight against drug traffickers for uncovering the plot of Mekong murder case. Although the the fight scenes are some of the best ever presented, what really strikes me is the boy scouts trained by armed drug gang. They took drugs and were brainwashed to be a killing tools without any human nature. One scene chilling my heart is that two boys played Russian roulette, when one boy lost the game and shot himself to death, other kids are shouting and cheering relentlessly. Their dignity, happiness and all the good things are deprived, meaning of life is just survival and drugs.
Drugs are the root of sin. Think deeply, there are quite a few Chinese star actors addictive to drugs, they spent a large amount of money earning from their fans in taking drugs simply out of mental stimulation or fun. And sadly, many people especially their large followings think that they just make a small mistake and forgive them. If we can give these people who live a decadent and dissolute life a chance to make amends, who can give those people who sacrifice their lives in drug fights a chance of living?
If we don’t see the dark side of society fortunately, it is just because many brave people have kept the darkness out of our vision. Cherish your life, stay away from drugs, solute to drug-suppressing police, and save the children controlled by drugs.
