Have you ever felt sometimes that all you want to happen is to disappear on this planet?

Well, that was what I felt this afternoon when our principal spilled the news to me. I did not have any idea that he has been planning to make me as one of the speakers in a Research Seminar. This morning, I received a memo that my colleague and I are going to a seminar by Tuesday. I thought we will just be participants until our principal told me that I will be the speaker. When I heard about it, I think I just uttered a big OMG. My topic will be about "Plagiarism." It is an interesting topic but I am really not that confident when I am speaking in front. I am very afraid that I might too nervous that I cannot say any much word. My audience will be those teachers that might be of a higher rank or might have attained higher education than me. Actually, I am afraid that my knowledge about my topic is not enough. I am afraid that there are more people who deserve to speak in front than me. My principal told me he will back me up, but of course, I am still nervous. I talked to my boyfriend about it and he told me "I am the best and I can do it." I hope. I really really hope and pray that everything will run smoothly. I am going to speak for 3 hours, how I wish it could be lessened to 1 hour. Please pray for me. This is gonna be the first time that I will be a Resource Speaker in a seminar.

That is a great honour and your principal must believe that you are capable of doing a good job. Will you make some notes or dot points to help you?

Yes, it is a great honour but I am afraid to disappoint him. I know in myself that I sometimes stutter or lose at words. I will be using a powerpoint presentation for the seminar. At the moment, I am looking for more resources on the internet.

@annierose For some reason I find saying to myself 'I can do this' a few times, helps when I'm feeling overwhelmed. As @Corbin5 says below, 3 hours is a long time.

@JudyEv My principal said, I need to give some activities. Actually, I am thinking of letting them watch a movie first before my presentation.

Yes, I have been. All I want something is gonna be happen is all disappear, almost every time and it makes us give up. But that's fine, just thinking positive and that give up will be gone

@PatZAnthony I agree with you. When I told the news to my friends, that was what they answered too.

Maybe when you are looking for material for your speaking, look after ways to manage these situations. In the Internet you can find a lot of tips.

You can do it! Just prepare and keep on practicing. Keep in mind that the principal picked you and that means a lot. Your principal believes that you are the best person for this job and that you are capable of doing this. All the best!

We've all had that feeling of wanting to give up, at least once in our life. But,with prayer to our heavenly father and patience, the sense of peace and hope will over-flow you, when you just believe and accept our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe in the Christian faith, and I'm not a perfect Christian and is still struggling through life, but I'm never going to give up either. We're basically born on earth to learn life's lessons. I'm not trying to pass judgement, but each of us in life is at a different level of spiritual growth and developement.
