Hatred

I read the newspapers or get news from other media. So much of hatred with flexing of muscles to obliterate perceived enemies; our politicians create many where none exist, at least among the 99%. Are they on the same page as the vast majority? It is time to call their bluff; tell what they can do than pull the wool over our eyes. Technology is keeping us spellbound with the endless possibilities that come with them. I look at renewable energy where each household can become free of grid power and even a producer by feeding their excess into the grid! And the electric cars where we move around in silence and zilch pollution! But will our politicians leave us alone? Image from Wikimedia

Oh no...they need their commissions...you guessed it right...they are not in touch with masses at all...at least not the educated ones, and the poor cast their votes for one bottle of hooch.

@Shiva49 .. Oh they are never in touch with voters. They have the standard lines to talk...we as voters should collectively refuse to vote.

@vandana7 Yes, we are still enslaved by them and feel having a right to vote is what democracy is about. The vast majority are still in the vicious clutches of few who have their way - siva

Climate change isn't that big of a deal. There are methods to take which will reverse it quite quickly. I'm putting them into a book and will be writing it a lot next month.

@OneOfMany Good that you are into this vital area. Let our lives add value to the common folks - we can touch others' lives many ways positively. Renewable energy will unshackle the vast majority of countries from the yoke of very few. And also result in much less pollution of sea. Also less triggering of wars on that account! siva

Here in the Philippines , there are already e-jeeps or electronic jeeps . Then , there would soon be e-trikes or electronic tricycle . At least , the pollution can be decreased by using these kinds of vehicles .

People are always surprised when my car starts moving and there's no noise. But then it goes faster and switches over to gas and then they understand. It's not just the politicians, but the oil companies who are the real adversaries to innovation. We had cars that could get several hundred miles a gallon in the 1970s. But because that would destroy the profits, the oil companies squashed that technology.

The privileged, read those exploiting, still carry the day even in democratic countries. Let them enjoy but not at the cost of the welfare of 99%. However they can only stall the process but common sense will prevail in the end - siva

When I listen to the supposed rousing speeches I like to scratch the surface. It is mostly self, party, nation in that order and then endlessly painting others as enemies thus playing into the hands of arms dealers. It is time 99% had their say on what matters. After all, it is they who foot the ultimate bill, even paying with their lives - siva

Even now leaders make the same pitch - blame others than have any positives to state. The moment they come to power, their promises to voters are forgotten. The masses are as gullible now, or forgiving rather, as from time immemorial. It is so easy to divide the majority and get to power and further selfish interests. That vicious cycle has to be broken for us to get to the next stage to realize our true potential - siva

They create a smokescreen to hide their real intentions. However, I believe out of ashes will rise the real one to lead us, drive home the point that we are one and from the same source. We hold what we have now in trust, to value add and leave a legacy worthy to be given a chance here having been placed at the top of all species - siva

@Shiva49 Very interesting, especially as the UK, which doesn't get that much sun, seems to be leading the way. A few years ago the government was giving a grant to people who wanted to have it in their homes, but I believe they stopped that.

I may be wrong to hope that politicians will leave us alone but renewable energy is making immense strides to make it a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Clean energy is getting cheaper to source power from and then we should be on our way towards a better and cleaner world From the link below: Commenting on the benefits of solar in general Nick Boyle, founder and CEO of Lightsource Renewable Energy, said the business was, "now in a position for the first time – and it's a really interesting inflection point – where I can go to large electricity users and offer to undercut what they're paying today - siva
In the U.K., the appetite for solar among some is becoming increasingly stronger.

Most politicians have many skeletons in their closets. They have risen up the ranks by amassing these skeletons. I was surprised to read recently about Abraham Lincoln, a past American President, who I had previously admired for his, "honesty". "Honest Abe", he was known as, because others also admired him for this quality. I read that he was responsible for the: "Largest mass hanging in United States history" 38 Santee "Sioux" Indian men were hanged at Mankato, Minnesota, on December 16, 1862. Read more about this here: It seems that this was done for political reasons, and to gain favours with the electors, and other Parliament ministers. I think personally myself though that Abraham Lincoln thought that he had done his best here too though. Originally 303 Indian braves were condemned to be hanged. He did manage to personally get a lot of these out from the hangman's clutches. He would say that he did his best, but because of the odds stacked against them, (trumped up charges and the like) he like Pilate, in the case of Jesus Christ, washed his hands with their blood, of their blood, instead of standing more firm on his own principles, and saving them. I think that he regretted his actions for the rest of his life. At least he had a conscience.

Agreed Steve, most have a conscience to feel guilty for their wrong doing! Sadly, most politicians lack conscience to feel guilty at all and justify whatever they do for self-preservation. We are lucky to live now as one could have been innocent but still pay the ultimate price with life. Even Jesus Christ was not spared then and hopefully we have evolved by now not to repeat such abominable crimes. Still our leaders manage to divide us and create enmity and endless revenge. My point is that we survive despite their nasty machinations. Time we pressed on with unity in diversity that is the hallmark and strength of the creative process - siva

I am sure we are seeing through their games. We should use technology to hold them accountable to fulfill their agenda based on which they were elected.
