While looking through the news sites this morning I saw an interesting item. It appears that ratings for the NFL games are down. Way on down (thank you, Elvis): there's an 11% drop (meaning that 110,000 out of every million who used to watch aren't watching anymore).
The NFL, according to media reports, is telling team owners there's nothing to worry about, it's just an increased interest in the presidential election.
Really??? Most people I know are running away from political coverage, not to it.
There's a sign in front of a strip club I drive by every day that says, "Turn off the NFL, turn on the USA." Is it just a coincidence that the ratings began to swirl around in the toilet on their way to the sewer right after a few very vocal NFL players decided they were going to refuse to stand for the National Anthem?
I think the ratings drop may be related to politics, but not the two buffoons running for president. I think it may be more related to the fact that a few people decided to make a two-minute time-out to honor our nation into a political statement.

I know that people are up in arms about this, but, peacetime or wartime, we all served to protect their right to do so.

Remember that line in "Know Your Rights" by the Clash? "You have the right to free speech...as long as you're not dumb enough to actually TRY it!"

Did you see the movie concussion with will smith? The Nfl is going down because a lot of football players are having hard life from their head injuries that caused by the game. A lot of players are having mental problems and some are getting crazy and kill themself. There is a big talk about it in the few last years.

I am glad NFL ratings are down. The player sit downs are the major trigger but I think overexposure and some other factors play into it.
