Today was the Ashtami, the auspicious day of Durga Puja. It was fine time because today as Sunday it was Holiday, so I have to celebrate it without worrying.
I got Panch Kanya (Five Girls) without much effort of searching, and everything was done as per rituals. Washing their feet and feeding them and presenting shagun (money)
everything was fine.
Navratri is Festival of Nine forms of Durga, and Ashtami is the Eight form. Durga Puja is worship of Goddess Durga, During this day we worship Goddess and host the virgin girls, special worship is done by washing their feet and feeding them, delicious home cooked special meal is a must. People can only eat after feeding the girls, as symbol of offering Goddess first and only then we eat.

Girls have to be virgins...so obviously young. Yeah..they are treated as goddesses and fed..very cute custom..they look terrific all decked and angelic..I can't do it, but I have seen others do it...awesome. I told you princess was made to sit ...and she was running off she wore a nice shining orange dress and her gold jewelry ...she was lifting her necklace...showing me "atta dee...atta dee" that is my name given to me by her...she did not know the word for necklace so she was trying to show it to me..lol.
