Some of you remember i told you hubby had stomach problems,we even went to the emergency room once (ca 2 months ago) It was test after test, in the end, they told him he had worms.( l dont know what kind of worms, i did not go with him for the results as l had to work)so they gave him chewing tablets. This surprised me, l didnt know and never heard that adults have worms in the stomach that can cause pain. Anyone heard this before?

Good that it was caught early...tape worm can come from pork, and can reach the brain...

@miniam .. No...it survives...always opt for meats that are from standard shops. Other works can come through gardening... And good to see you too. :) Hope you are doing good. :)

@vandana7 yes this is true, not all are destroyed by heat, at times it's the eggs that are not destroyed.

Trying to get me scared? l think even if there was a worm in pork, when it`s cooked it will get rid of the worm? Good to see you, my face is brighter today, not yet as bright but surely better

Do not imagine them like large worms, I know what they are, they are called nematodes (or roundworms). They are more common than people think. I know because the doctor thought that my husband had this problem, but he had not.

@miniam For what the doctor said it is pretty common. I remember he said that he takes a prescription once a year, just to be sure he has no problem. The name of the product is Vermox.

Yes I have heard of this before and usually when it happens all members of the family are given tablets to take because they can be passed on.

That's a myth that worms do not infect adults or the stomach and do not cause pain. Parasitic helminths can be found anywhere depending on the type, some allergic reactions could also be attributed to parasitic worms

Never heard it before, but then it must be one of those things you only hear if someone close is affected.

One of my son's girlfriends had worms. They caused her to lose weight. That's all I remember.

I though worms had something to do with eating unhygienic food...
