The rising high cost of land like the high cost of housing creates poverty and homelessness. There should be a law passed and a rent cap put on rents and mortgages over $600.00 to $1,000.00. Housing should not only be affordable to the wealthy and upper income families, but should include working poor families as well. There should be a low-cost land for sale cap limit as well. Selling land for over a million dollars should be made a crime and do away with. The cost of land should be reduce and more affordable to everyone.

Tell that to the government who is in control and regulates land. Ultimately it's not the fat cats to blame but the government in bed with them and collecting their cut of the money.

I sympathies with the landless workers but i am not sure I am happy with government touching anything to do with private land. The gov't in our country who try to do so are in for a lot of trouble. But then again there is a lot of government lands that can be develop for the poorer people. Generally, Trinidad has no poor perple just lazy ones.

I agree cost for living is high and it should be a law to lower the cost of living and it will be less poverty. You have people who are working and can't find affordable housing and force to be homeless.
