Do you take medication when you have a headache?

Whenever I have a headache no matter how severe I try not to take medication for it. Even though the medicine prescribed is just paracetamol. I believe that the less medicine one takes the better. I’ll just let my body recover itself. I drink a lot of water and try to get enough rest.
How about you?

@Ayuriny Why not try without medicine first?

@magallon I think that's good. Prolonged use of medicine can be harmful.

@succeednow That's true. Medicines could damage our kidneys.

I take a few Advil liquid gel caps. They work quickly.

@XinfulThotz I'm afraid that the body will not develop immunity and not be able to fight whatever "foreign bodies" (meaning germs and such) if one is too quick to take medicine.

@succeednow yes, i know. but no choice. If I don't take medicine.. many things will happen after that... so I rather take..

@MGjhaud Yes, tea relaxes me. You should try it and see if it does for you too.

@MGjhaud Yes, that's exactly what I would do except that I don't take coffee. I take tea instead..

@skysnap Yes, relaxation and rest are some of those techniques people use to cure tension headaches.

I do exactly the same unless the pain is too unbearable, I then take medicine, otherwise I try natural alternatives beforehand. Acupressure is amazing!

@annaroselock So you only medicate as a last resort. Good for you. By the way wher do you get your acupressure done? Is it DIY or do you need to consult a specialist?

@succeednow I do it myself for instance, for nausea I have wrist bands and you put them on the points where they should be to help. Works every time. You can use your hands though

I don't have headaches anymore just migraines and no medications work for me when I have them. I get very nausea and dizziness. I am sensitive to all smells, sounds, and lights and can never eat. I normally have to lay down in a dark, cold room, with little to no noise and try to sleep it off.

@CaseyRoss9966 Yes, migraine headaches are terrible. I used to have them but I don't know what triggered them. Maybe it's the air, food or stress. Analgesics are ineffective against migraine.

I take paracetamol when I have a sore head.
I do not see the point in suffering the pain.
But I do agree that the less medicine we take the better unless of course a doctor prescribed it
