Not a lot to report from during the day. I got yet another letter from welfare telling me to send them copies of documents needed to support my welfare payments and called them again to assure them that they have received the very documents requested. They checked my file and found, surprise surprise, that they have received them.
The evening involved the final movie presentation in the free screenings week of films dealing with mental health issues, The Savages, reviewed on an earlier blog. Talking with he organizers I was impressed that they liked my comments and observations in post-screening discussions to invite me to volunteer to help out at their counselling offices on the student campus. I was given a number to ring to discuss this further soon.
I rounded off the night with a beer in a nearby pub.

I used the library, did a little shopping and took a bus ride to capture a few of the city’s pub signs and other images. A driver who had seen me earlier on the journey actually pulled up his bus though not at an official bus stop to offer me a lift, (he knew I have an all week bus ticket). Very kind.

I replenished my food stocks and went to creative writing workshop where we did some great exercises. I sometimes post my completed pieces on these pages but the group requested a copy of today’s for use on their own blog pages. One piece was based on a photo of a man taken by a regional photographer who is keen to see what we came up with from the photo we were invited to work from. Hope he likes my contribution as well as the others, which were terrific.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the creative writing workshop. Creative writing was one of my favorite things in both high school and university.

The creative writing workshops sound like fun. I hate when places like that do that it's good that it got straighten out though.

It is nice when people go out of their way to help you isn't it? My daughter had a guy stop and offer her a ride a few months ago. s ago. It was hot out and she was carrying some groceries. Hop that the regional photographer likes your feedback.

The HR department at work tend to lose important documents too. It seems to be something they excel at, which is worrying. I wish our bus drivers were as nice as the ones in Preston!
