I know you would laugh... But here is my take. I have used fenu greek seeds quite often to reduce the feeling of bloating I sometimes felt. One teaspoon full, downed with water has helped me. EVERYTIME. Not Gelusil (I have vomited with gelusil) and other allopathic medications. And Rhustox has helped me recover from fever. It contains no artificial component. It did not leave my mouth with bitter taste or tastelessness as some of the drugs can. I felt like eating after fever and during fever too, which helped me to recover faster. I am not saying they will be as effective on you all too. I am merely saying they worked for me. Have you all ever tried alternative medications, and have they managed to provide you required relief?

No I would not laugh, in fact I'm also a follower of alternative medicine and seldom or at times never take synthetic medicine except for vitamins and food supplements

Me too...and even in those there is difference. I have been taking calcium for fairly long. But it is only recently that I found something that truly meets my requirements.

i prefer the natural schtuff myself, havin' lil faith'n what those pharmaceutical companies make'n peddle to unwary folks. one does to use caution though, particularly those'n other medications - to make certain there'll be no bad interactions 'fore usin' an herbal.

I only take medicine when I can't handle it anymore. I prefer herbal and natural medicine.

Herbal are always better I feel. With crocin my taste buds give me bitter taste but with herbal medications or homeopathic medication, I don't feel that bitter taste in mouth.

I don't use much alternative medicines since I don't have any allergies to any form of prescibed medications. I normally would try to rest more and hydrate until it becomes evidently that medication is required.

I'm a big fan of homeopathy and I have been able to keep my eight year old son mostly off antibiotics so far only with the help of homeopathic medicines.

We can always turn to allopathy. But as long as homeopathy or ayurvedic medicines can cure us, why go to something that has side effects.

@vandana7 There is nothing to laugh at.We either do it or leave it.While I have not had any benefits from Homeopathy, some Ayurveda natural remedies are good. The main plus for Ayurveda is there there are no side effects.

Rhustox is good! Next time you have light fever, or feel feverish, opt for rhustox. three times in a day..much better than crocin.

Do try it next time you feel some gases..giving you some pain. The problem will diminish in about half an hour. The next day you will have free bowel movements. Better than any medicine outside.

A spoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of tepid water, sipped slowly, has helped ease many a wobbly tummy here... could never get to grips with fenugreek infusions.

@vandana7 Teaspoon. In about 150 to 250ml of tepid water. Cider vinegar is made from apples.

My wife swears by boiling Saffron root in milk. I find it particularly distasteful but she is happy with it! What can work for one person may not for another. Glad you found something that works for you!

@vandana7 Both saffron and turmeric are good antiseptics, though I recall only a small amount must be used. As for taste, it depends on your mood and willingness to accept the remedy!

I'm sort of doing that with the heat patches I began using this week. I'm open to alternative methods, although I'm not familiar with these that you're talking about. I've also used some essential oils to relieve joint pain and for headaches.

Some home remedies do work on me but mostly I have to resort to non-ayurvedic medicines. I don't seem to handle ayurvedic medicines well. You already know about the kidney incident that happened. The medicine didn't suit me at all. Ever since I have been wary of them.
