The Car Key Was Nowhere To Be Found

Last Friday , as me and my brother-in-law prepared to ride his car in going to our respective offices , he cannot find his car key .
All of us tried looking for it at every place where he would place them , but to no avail . Thus , we decided to just commute separately , because his car blocks my husband’s car at the garage so we cannot use it also .
When he arrived in the evening , and went to his room , he suddenly found it!
It was in one of his pair of shoes below that side of the side table where he placed it . It slipped down from the table to the shoe .
He only saw it when he placed his other pair of shoes beside them , when he arrived home .
We thought , it ‘s another case of his forgetfulness .
Have you ever lost a key because you were forgot where you placed it ?

Haven't lost a key of forgetfulness. I have lost keys plus other valuable stuff due to drunkenness! Does that count?

@SIMPLYD Hah yes it is natural.
Good thing he found it. That is why when we purchase a car - they give us 2 main keys and one spare just encase

My husband can attest that this situation happens to me a lot. I guess my things are so disorganized that I usually lose my keys.

@SIMPLYD He is pretty organized so it makes up for me being disorganized.

So it happened to you too just the other day. In that case , it happens to all of us .
You know , i feel like laughing once i found a lost thing , specially in a bag . Just like you i get frantic when searching for my phone on my bag , i cannot find it despite groping for it .

That really happens once in a while and we always blame old age for that!

This happened to me on Sunday - we were going out to lunch with our son, but I was unable to find my car keys. We ended up having to take a taxi. I eventually found them later in the pocket of a jacket that I had worn the last time I went out.

You and @DianneN both placed it in your jackets . The jackets is an easy place to put the key indeed ,that's why .
That's why for me , i would always look at the pockets of what i have just worn before finally hanging or putting them in the hamper . That way , money placed in pockets too are retrieved .

Several times. And it's a bit scary to think of it happening as I grow older. :-/

That is true . When we keep forgetting where we place things we get scared that it could get worse as we grow older.
I also feel that way too whenever i forget something . Though , my forgetfulness has lessened since i started taking up fish oil .

In real life, there are many the cases of finding something by chance after in searching of it everywhere and failing to find it .

maybe the car key fell from the side table into his shoe while he was asleep. doesn't he have a spare key?

That reminds of nearly 25 years ago when I used to forget where I leave my car key, I bought this key ring that whistles back at you.. You just go around the house and keep whistling until you hear it whistle back ... I wonder if they are still available out there .. I must do some search and get my husband one as he forgets where he leaves the keys to the storeroom and the garage ..lol..
Anyway, you should all have a second set of keys for the cars like we do just in case we misplace the other one ..

When my husband and I were first married, his parents gave us a "key house" that was hung bedside the back door. When returning home the keys are immediately hung up. Over the years we have replaced the "key house" but it is still a reflex action to hang up the keys.
As a result we always know where our keys are....now if I could just find my glasses......
