Looking for my unfinished poetry and an apple cake

A member of the local poetry group I formerly belonged to for about five years stopped by the birdseed store yesterday when I happened to be working. She is quite a good writer and always liked my work as well. Talking to her for a few minutes reminded me of a warm evening this summer when I had found quite a lot of my "unfinished, needs work" poems and sat on the patio going through them. My mental note to revisit and work on them got lost in some tangled part of my brain and now I am trying to recall where I put them. Finding that stack and baking and apple cake, and ping pong this afternoon are my tasks for the day. Have you got much going on today?

I made a list of what I want to accomplish this week. I'll pick off a couple of them to do this morning. It's wet outside (yippee) so I'll save going anywhere for this afternoon. Santa Ana's coming later this week, so I'll be house bound. I'll tackle the rest of the list then.

@ElizabethWallace Too bad, it was dry today, no real sun, and more rain coming.

You should have published a collection of poems and let more people know your poems seasoned with wit.

I do have series about my experiences as a kid visiting my dad in west Texas. I need to get it together. I will call it "No Oasis."

I know the feeling of a tangled brain and wondering where things are.

I've had quite a busy day. Had an urgent job to type, needed for tomorrow. Also managed to fit in a run, got the new washing machine delivered and cooked ravioli for tea.

That was quite busy. How much do you run each week?

@JamesHxstatic I try to run 3 times a week. I have been running in the fields near where we live but they are starting to get so muddy now, it's not ideal. I'm going to find somewhere else to run now the weather is deteriorating.

Hope you find that poetry. I had one of the nurses come for her visit with me. That was nice. Now I am trying to get something done here.

Sounds like you have your day all planned out for yourself. I am at work until 5 and then after that going to go for a walk on the nature trail behind my place. Other then that I don't have a whole lot else planned. I think it is wonderful that you are going to work on your unfinished poems.

We are still having fairly torrential downpours off and on, so no nature trails for me today.
