20 years ago,my parrents were young and they both work on farm nearby, there were many children and we went to school together because we were neighbors and very familiar with each other.but now many couples work far away from their home, and left their children at home.when the children 6 years old, they need to go to shool, but how can a working couple to take care of their children while the children classes over at 16:00 and their parrents not at work until 18:00.

@bluebirdfly Nothing can do as well as parents. But when you have no option, it becomes the only way. and if grandparents can take care of kids, that is much better than this.

Here where we live in Canada, we have a lot of different priced day care places where the parents leave their children all day.

yes,we have many children care places here, but i mean that .the children's classes are over at 4 o'clock, but the parents are not at home until 6 .only 2 hours apart.does it necessary to leave the children to the care places everyday.is there any way to change the situation ,such as the classes are over at 5:30 ,while the parents finish work at 5:00.

If both couples work there are various options which will often depend upon finances. Things like after school clubs are good and cheap. Then there are babysitters which vary in price. Creches are often a little more pricey and then there are nannies which (here at least) are the most expensive option. Obviously if I was a parent the free option of relatives would be my first port of call

Times changed since there are new jobs, women working outside home and the large working hours. It's difficult to combine work and family. Even in Spain couples suffer under this problem. Most of them, if they don't have any member in the family who might help, they have to pay someone to take care of the child.

Many couples leave theis children to thier gradparents In our city. But leave child to the house maid maybe not necessary because they will come home 2 hours later.

@bluebirdfly That's usual in Spain, too. The matter is that, nowadays, the couples prefer to wait before having their first child. They first want to finish their studies, find a save job, buy an apartment and a car. That's means, actually they have other preferences. Once, they decide to have finally a child, they are often at the end of thirty or beginning the age of fourty. Then, the grandparents are also in an older age, some of them ill or even not alive any more. An aditional problem is that many people living here where I live are foreigners who emigrated to the Canarian Islands to find a job. But, they came alone, so the grandparents are far away and so they cannot take care of the new member. It's really hard if both have to work outside home. One option then is to pay someone who takes care during the working hours.

Maybe the government could make like an after school club where the kids could be kept until the parents collected them.
