Ok so I have started to do direct sales. I am selling for 2 different companies. This morning I was told by one of the ladies in one of my companies that I should never sell more than 1 thing. To only sell for one company at a time. I will not be successful. I need the money and I have kids to raise. This should be my decision right??

Sorry but I'm not sure I understand. You're in sales and you've been told to limit your sales or just sell things for one company?

That I should only be selling for one company. The managers never said that I can not sell for more than one company. Just another rep said this to me.

@12345fun Ok I get it Are the 2 companies you sell for in the same type of business? If so then yes you should maybe pick one. If not then there is no issue as far as I can see. How do you sell? Door to door, sales parties, MLM or something else? Sorry to be nosy but it does have an impact on the question you are asking.

@Mike197602 I sell mostly on the internet with parties. No one is food and the other is storage. Two different types of companies.

I think she meant you should not offer more than one product or service to the same company. That seems like a reasonable selling strategy. If lucky, they will listen to your sale pitch once. But I doubt they will take seriously a sales agent who offers two different products.
