Over 15 years ago l bought a 1.5 Liter water cooker( dont know what you call it at your place).
It cost me less than $20 and l was expecting it to stop working in a month, l have been using it every single day since then and it has been going strong,no problems at all.
Last week it stopped working and i feel sad,it has served me so well ,im going to buy the same brand.
Have you bought anything so cheap but it served you as well? what was it?

Love when that happens. I bought a Sanyo TV from Walmart and that thing lasted about 16 years. Never expected anything from Walmart to last more than a couple of years let alone 16. I wonder if Walmart still sells those TV's. Pretty sure the company loves that their products break after a couple of years that way people have to go shopping again.

@miniam I just looked and they are still out there at Walmart. Their new ones seem to have poor ratings though. I guess they started making them to Walmarts liking or I just got lucky with that one TV. lol

True, most companies will tell you they want to produce quality products but deep down they hope their product dont last more than 5 years.

They make them so you can only use for a few years, otherwise they will not make enough profit selling new ones

It served you for so long. Yes, I also have some appliances or things that last for so long and happy for it.

@miniam. The dollar tree is awesome. If you can still use the things and you can keep them for years.

it looks like a kettle, what we call takore, for boiling water. we have old electric fans that still work. our rice cooker is also pretty old. i hope the brand and model is still available so you can buy it again.

If your picture is similar to what you bought, it's what we would call a tea kettle.
I think the most comparable purchase I've made had to be our first rice cooker. It lasted us about 10 years, although I only paid about $15 for it. We replaced it with an identical one last year, and it broke within a month. The replacement for that one lasted two weeks, so we gave up altogether and purchased a more expensive one from another store. That one's still doing well, thankfully!
