I love to make jewelry. I read the magazines and go to bead shows. My friends and family can't believe some of the pieces I've made are handmade. What type of materials do you like to work with? Do you sell your jewelry, keep it for yourself or give it away?

I enjoy making beaded jewelry and I also do Chainmaille, it's a fun hobby and also good for making some extra money. I order my supplies from Santa Fe Jewelers Supply online, alot of their materials are cheaper than Fire Mountain Gems especially the wire.

Hi! I am doing the same, or rather my little daughter and I are. I was trying to think of something that she could make and I thought of bracelets and necklaces using beads with holes large enough for her to work with and elastic cording. She does very well! Last night she even threaded the smaller beads onto a needle! We are giving bracelets she made to female relatives and friends. It's been really fun doing this with her. Best to you!

It's a great way to spend time with your daughter and I'm sure the one's who recieve them will love them. My son actually enjoys making things with me. He has made jewelry for his friends at school, his sisters and his Nanna. They have all loved them and worn them to show them off. Thanks for the reply. Have fun.

i just started working with beads. I made a few bracelets during Christmas for gifts. People loved them. I am looking for a pattern to make badge holders out of beads so I can make them for co-workers.

You should check out some of the bead sites on the enternet. There are to many to name. I have found it to be addictive. It is an inexpensive way to make gifts. Good luck on your search. I will let you know if I come across a pattern for the badges.

I love to make jewelry. I have read some magazines, but prefer to put my ideas to the test. I love colour, so I bring a lot of colour into my work. Although not too many colours in one piece. Busy now making christmas gifts for the family! Enjoy your hobbie. Have a good day!

Jewelry making and beading has become a great way to make money. How did you learn to make jewelry? How can I find some of your jewelry online? Thank you for the response.

does she sell any of it? Where does she get her ideas on what she is going to make? Does she take classes or learn on her own?

I love making jewelry! I mostly made stuff out of the plastic charms. I like big 80s earrings. I was making it and selling it on Myspace, Livejournal, and Ebay for awhile. But, I had to give it up. I still make my own stuff. And when I have time, I will start selling again.

Send me the information on your jewelry online when you start doing it again. It is a great way to earn extra money. The jewelry making has become a real craze around me. How did you start selling online? How well did you do with selling it? Thanks for the response. We will have to stay in touch.

I will definitely let you know if I start back up again. And I just started a Myspace page and sold stuff on there. I also sold stuff on Livejournal and a few things on Ebay. I was targeting a younger crowd since all the 80s fashion has become popular again. And I did ok selling it. I didn't accept Paypal and probably would have done better if I had. But, I think I ended up breaking even in the end. Once I am a stay at home mom again, I will pick it back up.

I would love to see some of your work. This would be a great place to show off some of your work too. Being a stay at home mom is hard work. I find it hard to concentrate on what I'm doing.

I started out with beading necklaces and bracelets etc, even made a few rosaries. But in the past few years I have been mainly working in metals, such as copper, sterling and titanium. I mainly do necklaces and bracelets in different "weave" patterns .. some resembling chainmail weaves.
