I Thought I Wasn’t Invited

I suddenly get hurt , yesterday morning at the office , when I heard from an employee that my lady boss is giving a 2nd birthday party to her little girl , as she was already absent ..
Why wasn’t I invited , I thought to myself .
At past 9:00 a.m., she texted me to attend the birthday party of her little Charmaine, in the afternoon at a fastfood outlet and she apologized that no invitation was issued because they just decided about it the night before yesterday .
I told her “ I thought , you are not inviting me “ . She said “you , of all people?”
Would you go to a birthday party even if you weren’t invited ?

I never go uninvited, at times I get lots of invitations but I'm the one who makes excuses not to come especially if I want to finish a project at home, at times I let my wife and the children attend so as not to look rude. Sometimes we don't have to judge a situation right away like in this case.

I think everyone of us wouldn't want to go to a party without being invited . I was brought up that way , that's why even at fiestas where everyone is free to come , i still won't go if i am not invited .
That's nice of you to just have your representative . It should be that way indeed , if we weren't able to officially tell them you cannot come . Though , with the cellphone age , we can always text or call to thank them for inviting us and offer our apology for not coming .
I agree , i am just getting sensitive , for judging why earlier i wan't invited .

See ? No one would like to attend a party when he /she isn't invited . They might have their reasons and the guests must be limited so we have to just be considerate and understanding .
The cake was so lovely indeed , just a small one since this wasn't a much prepared for party .

@SIMPLYD Yes, but I have known of some who show up even not invited. It is very embarrassing for the person & it could be a reason for why there is a limit to invites.
It could be the venue is small, or they're maxed budget, or for close people/friends only, etc =)
Small parties is okay, you were one of the special ones to be able to attend!

@SIMPLYD yeah.
Gate crashing parties became some sort of a hobby for me and my friends back in the day. It was fine back then but nowadays, not anymore. Getting dragged out of venues by security takes its toll!

@allen0187 Correct in younger days we can do that . But not when there is security that can take you out if you weren't invited .

It is so shameful to go to a party wherein you are not invited . The one who gave the party knows that you are uninvited .
Yes, i was after all invited . If i wan't texted to go , i really won't attend .
So , before going to the McDo at the mall , i went to the department store and bough a doll for my gift .

@epiffanie You are so correct . Good for them they were invited . but then , it will be shameful on their part too because the clebrator when it's for a limited numbe only would be in a compromised situation.
I don't go. when somebody just wan me to tag along .

@SIMPLYD I noticed too that some invited guests take the liberty to invite others without telling the hosts of the party ..Have you noticed that with some of our fellow Filipinos?..lol..

I know that you would say that too .
Yes, the cake was just small , only for the celebrator and her family . But i bet it is delicious because the one who makes it is my former architect officemate who resigned to be full time in business , architectural projects and baking cakes as orders .

normally I won't go uninvited.
but there are times whereby you may already be with one of the common friends and he/she drags you along...

@XinfulThotz Besides you seem to choke when you eat the foods in the party , uninvited .

Well, that also happens to me at times . My friends will drag me along , but i really refuse specially that i don't know the one who invited .
When it comes to occasions , i am so strict to myself - not to go if not invited . I fear being watched by the one who is giving the occasion with dagger eyes .

It's so hard sometimes to figure those out. Like in your case it was just a failure to get an invite out. If it was a fancy thing where money for meals were being paid for I won't even think about it but sometime people you know well are just happy to see you.

Yes , the cake was so cute , with Hello Kitty design . There are lots of giveaways. I was also given a bag of candies. and goodies. But , i gavej it to me officemate who brought her two kids . at lest now, they each have a bagful of goodies.
It was a simple occasion, so the food is McDo. fried chicken , fries, sundae and softdrink .
