WRESTLING is not a most choice of todays generation?

wrestling is the worlds oldest sports, which is not most popular among young generation, there are lots of movies and shows are promoting the sports but still its not finding the right place in worlds sports.
lots of good wrestler are quiting the sports because of very insufficient resources provided to them comparing to the other sports like cricket and football. but still some good athletic trying to do best for their country,
i want to know why worlds oldest sports is coming to the end like this

Any sport that doesn't attract crowd will eventually fade. Wrestling doesn't have enough fans because I think it involves violence and not a lot of people enjoy watching it. Most parents also doesn't allow their children to watch or follow wrestling due to this reason and therefore the wrestling market is not very welcomed.
