Listening to Nat King Cole

I was listening to a Nat King Cole song this evening and wondered if we will hear songs like that ever again. Each word is clear, the song tells a story, there is melody, there is emotion/feeling.Music was soothing. to the soul. Most of the songs today are about raw sex, they consist of two or three sentences repeated over and over again, the tune is also repetitive, it is impossible to decipher what they say most of the time, and they all finally blend together. Do you have a favourite old time singer and do you still listen to their music? Or have you a liking for the modern day music?

My all-time favorite singer is Jim Reeves. I like music, period. Music doesn't have an expiration date. I have Dale Watson's brand new album on my iPod as well as songs from the 1920s.

Him and his daughter Natalie sings with no effort. I love the Christmas song he recorded and know one of the lines are chestnut roasting on an open fire.

"All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth" also by Cole. The singing with no effort does indeed apply to the father and daughter.

I liked Nat King Cole. He had such a good voice. There are many other old time singers that I liked. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland, to name a few.

yes, old songs are easy to listen to, sing along to, or just play in the background and you still get a relaxed vibe, not intrusive or distracting.
