I pick things to augment our income as well as a hobby, lately I bought this Guy for 10 pesos or roughly around 20 cents. I search and I could easily sell him for 12 to 15 dollars, It's a vintage M&M candy and peanut dispenser. I would have sold him but my wife insists that we keep him and put him into use on the Christmas table, oh well I have other stuffs to sell, "but use it only after you have sterilized it" I asked her
I looked at it after it was cleaned and can't help falling in love with it too, You put candy or peanuts inside, put down the arm like a slot machine and out goes the candy on the other hand. The candy M&M is very dear and sentimental to me since my mom used it to bribe me to get my hair cut when I was a kid lol.
Do you have similar experiences? Like you are already gonna make a profit on something but just decided that you want to keep it? Thank you very much for reading.

I have not measured it yet but probably a foot or less and I have not yet loaded anything into it. They have a catalog in the internet and I was surprised, many colors and models by year. The ones that commemorated things like sports events were more expensive.
Here they just throw or give it away. Just looking at him brightens my day

@hereandthere lots of toy collectors here too, good vintage toys already has a market here in our country so long as you don't sell it very high. There are plenty of good vintage toy sellers in the US but ship cost would make it impractical.

That also happened to me with my youngest, i was able to buy a vintage action figure complete with the packaging in a garage sale, while researching it further on my computer he approached me and asked me if he could have it, oh well at least he was honest so I let him have it but I tsuwght him the difference between vintage and ordinary toys.

@youless no I know how to look at the expensive ones, most you can find here are diggings from sites or from underwater, they are very old but like today, they are just common house wares, there are plenty, your country exported them in ship loads even before Westerners came.
The real expensive ones are in your country, the imperial wares used by emperors, they have Chinese character markings, this is what Christies and Southby's auction off for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars

It's because China did not trade with the outside world after the revolution, your country has a long history so this one would be considered new. Btw M&M is now made in China
You are luckier, your antiques are very old especially the beautiful blue and white porcelain. I have a few Ming pieces here and some Sung dynasty jarlets, not very expensive, there are probably many there just hidden in cabinets of old people, better start looking and askingyou will make a lot of money

@PatZAnthony it's always a choice between making some money and keeping something you like and or may cost more if you buy a new one and may not be as lovely as older stuff

It makes my day happy just looking at it and even happier knowing my wife is happy. It's good for display but it could also be used as a real functioning candy and peanut dispenser on the table

Actually the peanuts and candies are loaded at the back, you bring down the other arm and put your hand under his hand with the candy, no matter one thing is for sure this guy won't get appendicitis

@vandana7 his a bit lucky cause he is staying with us. If somebody with lesser knowledge got hold of him he would end up a kid's toy and after they are done with him, he would probably be remelted

It is amazing what you can find for cheap and sell it for more. What are you going to use it for on Christmas?

I intend to use it as it was intended to be, load it up with m&m or peanuts and put it on the table, a cool way of getting it instead of just served on a plate or jar

I collect M&M Characters, so this made me laugh. I am not sure should admit have 3 green and 3 red in my living room now. My daughter says this is to many. I told her each one is different from different years. I laughed harder to see my favorite word vintage, as I love the older characters.

I would be happy as well, I saw a site that has all the models that came out with a price estimate so you would atleast know how much your collection is worth, some figures commemorating certain events tend to be more expensive, perhaps your daughter would say that you have to look for more

That is for sure, I saved him from being brought to the junkyard and then to the melting pot. We should increase our knowledge since there are lots of treasure around waiting to be picked.

Happy looking guy. Yeah, I have a fantastic hawk bird made of colored glass in the most minute and intricate design you could find! I can easily sell for a few thousands dollars, but I can' part with him.
