Comforts of Home

Running water, electricity and a few other home comforts were very much appreciated this morning and probably taken for granted most of the days in our lives. I love my snug warm couch to cuddle up on in the winter, and I love the luxury of having a deep freezer to make ice for my cool drinks in the summer. A phone to call friends . . . . .A light switch for the easy access to light all day through. A flower pot on my windowsill . . . small and simple comforts of home. What are the comforts of home that make you feel very grateful? “Manifest plainness, Embrace simplicity, Reduce selfishness, Have few desires.” ~ Lao Tzu

for me if i get wifi and PC i will not leave that place but yes home is most comfort as though we go outside for more day with luxurious facilities but home is home and we can sleep peacefully at home only.

There are three things I cherish the most. My animals, the cats, dogs and wild life that I feed because of the drought here in California. I cherish my boy friend and that we are so very close. I cherish my home and the comforts that I have...the running water, electricity, and the location out in the country. The material items that most people covet like a fancy car, expensive massive home, vacations in Europe or other far away countries, expensive jewels and other "showy" examples of wealth don't mean a thing to me. I would rather use my money to help others in need. I would rather donate the showy examples of wealth to the humane societies to use to help the animals. As long as I have a roof over my head, simple food to keep me alive and healthy, and my poor beat up Subaru station wagon that held together remarkably when I hit the 300 pound wild pig I am content and don't desire more. As it is I am sorting through the material objects in my life and am giving them to the various philanthropic agencies like Goodwill, American Veterans, and the animal rescue groups so they can get funds so they can continue in their good work. My comforts of home that make me feel grateful are my cats & dogs, my bed, and a roof over my head. The rest of the stuff is not necessary but it is helpful in life, OH, on the grateful side I also am grateful for my sewing machine so I can make the teddy bears that I both sell and donate to the humane societies.
