Another Interesting Thought

Consider this: I think this explains life very well. I came across this today and thought that I would share it with you. Sometimes, we just need to think about life, in general, and where we are in the stream of time. Perhaps, analyzing how our life as progressed and if we are happy with where we are right now. What do you think? A birth certificate shows that we were born. A death certificate shows that we died. Photos show that we lived. I’m in the process of gathering photos of as many relatives that I can. I’m putting together quite a large collection of photos and searching my ancestry. I’ve also put together photos of myself from the time I was just a baby until now. I’ve done a lot of traveling and I have lots of photos, so this has been a FUN project for me, because looking at all these photos brings back a LOT of memories. The photo is of me when I was in San Francisco several years ago.

A really interesting thought indeed as well as those statements. You can make all the photos into a slide show as well

I don't know how to do that. Maybe my grandson knows how to do it.

Great idea. My son is always saying Mum take as many photos as you can wherever you are. I think I have about 500 photos from my recent trip in Europe.

@IreneVincent I have uploaded most of them on to my computer and have kept a few on my phone. I also have a photo album with some of my trips in, but I am a bit lazy now and don't do that so much. Your family will have some lovely memories when you are finished.

@glenniah YES, I hope to get everything finished up in the next few months. I need to learn how to upload photos to my computer from my iPad and my phone. My grandson can show me how, hopefully.

Wow! That is a great collection of photos. Are they on your phone or digital camera or did you have them all printed out. I have some on my phone and I'm not sure how to get them off my phone into print or onto the computer. I'm very technologically challenged. I will have to ask my son or grandson how to do it.

I still have a lot to do. I sort of took the summer off, but I will have to get back to it and complete the task this winter, when I will not be going out so much.

Are you collecting your photos in a physical album, or putting them online? I wish I had more photos of my ancestors, and also more from when I was a child.

@IreneVincent That's a great photo. Regarding the photos - I just take photos of the photos, then put them straight on my computer.

I'm putting them in physical albums. I've copied over 300 old photos, Enhanced them and cropped them and done everything I can to make them better. I've been doing them at Target and it has been very time consuming. I can only do a few at a time, because of the way the copier is set up. I have to lean over the counter and do each photo separately and it's very hard on my back. Each session has taken me over two hours. I still have more to do. But, I've been putting it off, dreading the pain in my back. I have to get back to it though so that I can complete this project for my children and grandchildren. I'm also going to ancestry.com and gathering a lot of information about my ancestors. I was supposed to take a class but it was cancelled due to lack of participation. Here is a photo of my grandfather, my father's father.

It's not a bad picture, but looking more closely at it, I realize that I had no make-up on whatsoever. Must have been take early in the morning. I'll have to share a better one. This one was taken on a cruise ship. I have make-up on but NO smile. I'll have to find a better one than that.

@just4him Sometimes a smile is the BEST "makeup."

What a nice picture of you.I think what you are doing is a great idea. People takes lots of pictures now but not many people actually have the printed. They are all stored on a computer or a flash drive somewhere. It would be nice to have the actual pictures to pass on to generations to come.

I have had over 300 photos printed out this past year and I'm making albums for my children and grandchildren. It's been quite a project and I'm not finished yet. I'm trying to get photos of all my first cousins, of which I have over 40. I have most of them, but since my father was the youngest of ten children, most of my cousins are much older than I am and many have passed away.

@Happy2BeMe Yes, I was really making progress before it got so hot outside and then I sort of hibernated, not wanting to go out when the temperature was so hot. Now that it's cooled down some, I will get back to it. I want to complete this project asap.
